Costa Almeria is a very varied area having both beautiful beaches and the only desert in Europe. The Cabo de Gata is a national park east of Almeria which is an arid desert area famous for the filming of the spaghetti western movies. The film sets still remain and there are daily tours to relive the excitement of the wild west. A lot of the beaches can only be reached on foot and the area is a nature lovers paradise.
To the west is Almerimar, a pretty marina with many bars, restaurants and shops whilst Roquetas de Mar is a larger town with all the facilities of a major resort.
Almeria city is on the south coast with the spectacular Alcazaba castle dominating the skyline.
To the north of the Costa Almeria is Vera famous for it's naturist beaches whilst just further south is Mojacar with large sandy beaches and inland the old white walled village.
