Calis (pronounced "Chalish" and derived from the Turkish "Çaliþ"), is a quiet albeit somewhat busy tourist resort, which is less characterful than other locations within Turkey.
Calis boasts two very natural and very beautiful attractions, it's cooling breeze which is said to be perfect for when the local temperatures soar in the summer, and the other is the most beautiful sunsets anyone has ever seen in the whole world.
For amazing food, then there are some wonderful choices of cafes, restaurants and snackbars available selling amazing choices of Turkish and Italian food, or even English food for the homesick, If shopping is what you fancy, then there are a small amount of choices when it comes to shops, however, with the choices that are available, you can purchase jewellery, shoes, clothes, even water sports equipment, even some well stocked mini marts where you might be able to find souvenirs, teas and spices.
Should you want to enjoy a day out, why not enjoy a nice ride, galloping on the horses could be fun, just don't forget the picnic, or you could even visit the beach and go surfing, and see if you can survive without making a 'splash down', speaking of splash down, you could visit the Aqua park and either enjoy the slides or visit the fitness centre, you could even book a boat tour and visit the nearby islands and do a spot of fishing if you wanted, or possibly take an truck safari to a nearby city such as Marmaris.
Where the nightlife is concerned, although it is low-key, there is a good selection of bars and cocktail cars available along the beachfront and with bay views, there is also a disco or two, so you will be guaranteed some entertainment, if you have a car though, there is a more active nightlife in the nearby town of Fethiye.
