Located in the Aydin Province in western Turkey, Altinkum (meaning Golden Sands) is a rapidly growing tourist destination at the tip of the Aegean Sea which is most famous for it's ancient Temple to the god that was Apollo, There is also the ruins of Didim (what the ancient Ionian's called Didyma) of which Apollo's temple is located on the outskirts of.
Should shopping takes your fancy, all the best items to purchase in Altinkum can be found in Dolphin Square and the near by Shopping Mall, so why not head there and do some haggling, or even wait until the market day when you can head into Didim each Saturday morning where you can find items from apples to watches, just remember, if you buy any fruit, eat it all before you leave, you're not allowed to bring it back if you leave the country.
After something to do at night, then why not head into Altinkum and enjoy a Turkish night, filled with traditional music, dancing and entertainment of all kinds.
Fancy yourself a "Horse Whisperer" then why not head to the ranch near Third Beach and book a Horse Safari, and trot along the beach where you can stop off at the sea and after securing your horse, why not enjoy a quick lunch, or if you prefer boats and diving to horses and riding, then why not go on a 5 Island boat trip, or even diving deep down with dolphins, or octopus, maybe even tuna (live, not tinned) who knows, the dolphin may even let you hold on while it speeds underwater and you go along for the ride. To make things complete, why not book yourself a Jeep Safari and take a trip along the back roads of Altinkum, don't forget to take lunch with you though.
