The region is famous for the best wine in Portugal and merits some wine tasting. Head to the Oeste wine route, which starts from Bombarral or move back in time to the Dinosaur Museum in Lourinha, an excavation site that is the most important in Europe. You are sure to find some fascinating relics of a past long gone. From here head to Tomar, which is the original home of the Knights Templar. The Castle is set high above the town and is worth a visit.

You can also opt to just relax and enjoy the beach and take in the sun. Being next to the sea, there is great climate throughout the year. In fact, winter too is a great time to visit, as it is not cold, but sunny. A visit here is sure to leave you with some lasting memories.
