Welcome to our selection of holiday homes to rent in Fiji.
The Republic Of Fiji is an island nation in the South Pacific about 2,000 miles to the east of Australia consisting of 330 islands.
The climate is tropical with the warm season running from November to April and the cool season running from May to October. At an average of 22 degrees C, the cool season may be best suited to British tourists. The terrain is mostly comprised of mountains of volcanic origin, while the surrounding sea is packed with soft coral reefs.
Fiji provides a wealth of activity in perfect surroundings. Development has been carefully controlled so as not to disrupt the beautiful clear seas, reefs, lagoons, rivers, forests and mountains. As one would expect, there is a good range of aquatic activities such as diving, surfing or kayaking. Many activities are specifically geared towards observing the wildlife both marine and inland. Turtles, sharks, sea snakes, dolphins and rays are just a few examples of the creatures to be spotted in the clear water. Shark-feeding tours for the adventurous or glass-bottomed boat tours are widely available, and diving tours for all levels of expertise are frequently run.
Further inland, activities such as rain forest hikes, mangrove exploring and river kayaking can be pursued. The nature enthusiast can expect to find mongooses, iguanas, tree frogs and many species of parrot.
Fiji has a great deal of national and local festivals to enjoy. Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is celebrated in November with displays of candles and feasting. The cities of Nadi, Suva and Lautoka each have their own annual festivals.
