Lofoten - 5 Bedroom House to rent Sleeps 9 - Rent from 810 Euros week

Welcome to our selection of holiday rentals in Norway.

Did you know that Norway has over 20,000 km of coastline? It is also considered among the wealthiest countries in the world and offers some spectacular views.

Among the popular attractions is a trip to Vigeland Park, which has the largest number of art displays by a single artist. There are over 200 exhibits made of glass, iron and granite. The sculptures are all of humans in their different moods that are captured quite evocatively. From here, take the cable car to the top of Mount Floien for a spectacular view of the city and its waterways below.

If you are the outdoors kind of person, you can hike up to the top of Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit Rock. It is a two-hour trek and the view from the top is spectacular. Sit on the edge with your feet dangling over the abyss only if you have a head for heights! From here, head to the Viking Ship Museum to see ships that the early seafarers used on their expeditions to the unknown. These were excavated from a Viking chief’s grave and restored.

Take a leisurely walk around Bergen to explore the lovely old buildings and alleyways. It was an important trading place from the 14th to the 16th century. The Akershus Fort was originally built in the 16th century. It has a park and offers excellent views of the city. There is also a chapel that is still used for royal events. The palace is quite photogenic and the atmosphere is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city.

If you are the activity kind of person, head to Holmenkollen, which has the world’s greatest ski jump. The top also offers a great view of Oslo and has a ski museum which displays various types of skis and how they were developed over the years. It also houses a ski jump simulator.

A trip to Norway would not be complete without a fjord cruise to discover where the mountains meet the sea. It is an unforgettable experience. And if you are visiting from October to March, do not miss seeing the Northern Lights. There are very few sights so hauntingly beautiful as the aurora borealis! If you are visiting in summer, there are many events that showcase the culture, music, dance and food of the region. Jostedal offers a glacier hike, besides other sports like mountain kayaking.

A trip to Norway leaves you with memories you will cherish for a long time. Chances are it will make you want to come back again!
