The Archaeological Museum offers you a glimpse of the region’s history that dates back from the Neolithic age to 1700 AD. See the Tombs of the Kings, which are underground tombs carved out of rock and date back to the 4th century BC. There are also many mosaic floors that have been excavated and depict scenes from Greek mythology. These were originally the floors in the villas of rich noblemen in the 3rd century AD. From here, head to the Paphos Odeon where you can relax and enjoy some musical and theatrical performances.

The Petra Tou Romiou is considered the birthplace of Aphrodite. It is a strikingly beautiful spot and a must visit. The Ayia Paraskevi Church is the most interesting and attractive church in Paphos that dates back to the Byzantine period. It has a vaulted basilica and was built in the 10th century. At Kouklia village is the Temple of Aphrodite, which was once the most celebrated place of pilgrimage in ancient Greece. The ruins of the temple, which dates back to the 12th century, can be seen here.

Move on to the Ayios Georghios Basilica to see the picturesque fountains and the beautiful village squares. There are also the ruins of two important basilicas. The region was an important establishment in the early Christian times.

You can unwind at one of the many nightclubs located on Bar Street. There is some great live music along with lively discos. Paphosalso offers some traditional and modern productions for those among you who are inclined to theatre. The majority focus on Greek and Cypriot mythology and legend and are quite entertaining. There are also jazz festivals, as well as classical piano soirees. If you are visiting in March, be sure to catch the Paphos Carnival which has a lot of traditional and modern activities. Around this time, you will also come across the Akamass Festival, which offers classical musical concerts. Around July and August, you can see some ancient Greek drama through a variety of performances. Around September, on show are some traditional Greek and Cypriot singing, dancing and music at the Aphrodite festival.
