This five-story, renovated modernist townhouse (1929) with beautiful old tiles, antique carpentry and iron railings is the perfect getaway for people of all ages. Right on the plaza of one of the most picturesque mountain villages in Mallorca, it is only 10 minutes away from the coast, and it is ideal for lovers of biking, golfing, trailing, hiking and sightseeing.
The house has five floors, two of them with a balcony, and a roof terrace with astonishing views. Modern, completely furnished kitchen with all appliances, dining, living room, double bedroom + bathroom, double bedroom + terrace. Heating/Air conditioning. Dishwasher, washer, dryer, modern stove and oven, nicely furnished and decorated.
Perfect romantic getaway - the house, the village, the creek cutting through the valley, and the olive, oak and pine mountains are an unforgetable sight in the fall, winter and spring months. The valley is covered in perfumy orange groves, and the village life is authentic, not touristy.
Fornalutx is located on the North Coast of Mallorca, three Km. north of Soller and 5 Km away from Port of Soller. It is a picturesque Mediterranean mountain village with stone houses and unbelievable views, surrounded by orange and olive groves. It is protected by the Spanish National Patrimony for its historic and architectural features. Among them are the ancient olive oil trade trails, many paved in stone. About 500 inhabitants, it is quiet but not isolated. 35 minute drive to Palma International Airport(PMI).
Grocery store/bakery/deli is across the street. There are four restaurants in the village, and many more in the nearest town of Soller and in the Port of Soller. Fresh fish and seafood, hearty soups and paellas, grilled pork and lamb specialties. The valley of Soller is famous for its oranges, fish, lamb, pork, seafood and fresh produce. The town of Soller prides itself in its pastry shops. Prices are reasonable.
Contact person in town will give you the keys and have the house ready for your arrival. Clean bedding and towels provided. Courtesy shopping before guests enter: coffee, tea, eggs, fruit, milk and bread. Contact staff available constantly. Twice a week cleaning can be arranged.
Rental car available at airport upon request.
Bikers: you can take the bus to town, the train to Soller and ride for two-three Km. to get to the village. Buses from Soller to Palma and vice-versa are available hourly. There is a old cable car every half an hour from Soller to the Port of Soller. Fornalutx to Soller walk: 15-20 minutes. Fornalutx - Port walk: 40 minutes. Bus to Deia and Valldemossa also available.
Boat excursions available from the Port of Soller: Cala Tuent, Torrent de Pareis, La calobra, Port of Palma.
