Guardamar del Segura is a holiday town popular with the Spanish on the Costa Blanca 33kms from Alicante airport, about 20 minutes drive. The property is on a quiet Residencia about 3kms from the town and 6kms from Torrevieja.
The beach is a 15 minute stroll away and is accessed via a new footbridge across the Guardamar to Torrevieja road. It is backed by pine trees and sand- dunes and is generally isolated although there is a small bar there in the summer months.
If you want a more lively area then you can either walk along the beach or drive in to Guardamar where bars and restaurants line the promenade.
To the rear of the development is a country lane leading to a large saltwater lake that is a nature reserve and very popular with bird watchers.
There is also an excellent riding stable where you can hire horses or learn Spanish dressage. An accompanied ride around the lake takes all day and costs about £25 including lunch.
The accommodation is on the first floor and reached by a short flight of steps. It is off the road and adjacent to the swimming pool, which is shared by the surrounding properties. Most of the year, you will have the pool to yourselves.
The apartment has a large living room area with a front balcony overlooking the pool. There is a CD player so you can bring your own music. Off the living room is a kitchenette equipped with gas hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and automatic washing machine. From the rear balcony is access to the roof terrace.
There is one triple bedroom with 3 single beds and one double bedroom with a double bed. Both rooms have fitted wardrobes.
In addition there is a double sofa bed in the sitting room with an extra single divan.
The bathroom has a bath, shower, bidet, toilet and vanity unit sink.
The roof terrace is very secluded and allows dawn to dusk sunbathing in complete privacy. There is a shaded area, sun beds, barbecue and tables and chairs. From here are spectacular views of the surrounding countryside to the mountains beyond, the lake and the sea.
