"Marguerita" is a ground level rural apartment which is part of a whitewashed house. It has a bedroom with a double bed, double wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and lamps. There is an ensuite loo/shower and an open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area. The kitchen is typically Andaluz and there is a good array of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery supplied. The kitchen is freshly stocked with some basics like bottled water, milk, juice, bread, butter, jam, eggs and cornflakes for your arrival. Outside there is an Andalucian vine-covered patio and a gravelled garden set amongst rolling olive groves in a hamlet. The hamlet is quiet but not isolated, a 3 minutesīdrive from the main road and 15 minutesīdrive to the main motorway which connects to the rest of Andalucia. The cultural cities of Cordoba with La Mezquita, Granada with The Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada Mountains and National Park, Sevilla and its Giralda, Alcala la Real in Jaen Province with La Mota Fortress, Guadix and its cavehouses, Malaga and its coasts and spectacular Ronda are within easy distances for day trips. This makes where we are, which is where the three provinces of Cordoba, Granada and Malaga meet, an ideal base for sightseeing, exploring La Subbetica or the Poniente Granadino, birdwatching at the Fuente de Piedra Nature Reserve or Desfiladero de los Gaitanes Natural Area, walking in the El Torcal or visiting some of the towns or villages on the Washington Irving Route or the Route of the Caliphs. A short walk will take you to the local bar/restaurant and the shop for those emergency supplies. Main amenities can be found in the village of Tapia which is a 5 minutesīdrive south from here or the village of Iznajar which is a 10 minutesīdrive north. Both villages also have their own municipal pools which are operational during the summer months of June, July and August. Lake Iznajar and its beach Valdearenas is only a 10 minutesī journey away. Pack a picnic or bring a book to spend a lazy afternoon by the beach from the hustle and bustle...parking is anywhere you can find a space on the beach! Car hire is essential.
