Grasmere is the 'Jewel of the English Lakes' one of the most beautiful of the lakeland villages. The most famous resident William Wordsworth described it as 'the loveliest spot that man bath ever found' and most people agree with his sentiments today. There are many walks in the area for all levels of walkers. The village boasts several pubs and restaurants, art galleries and gift shops. The River Rothay runs through on it's way to Grasmere lake, where you can hire a rowing boat or just sit and admire the views. |
